On behalf of Stange Law Firm, PC posted in Unmarried Couples on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Missouri residents have no doubt felt the pinch from the economic downfall that began in 2007. This downfall is still affecting people today and has had a serious impact on homeownership with more couples buying their first house together before getting married. Coldwell banker recently surveyed couples about their decision to buy a home. The answers showed generational differences with more younger couples deciding to buy first homes before marriage. According to the survey, 24 perecnt of those between the ages of 18 and
Missouri legislation concerning foster children care
On behalf of Stange Law Firm, PC posted in Family Law on Friday, May 24, 2013. The Missouri legislature has taken steps to make it easier for individuals to assume the role of being foster parents in our state. Missouri Senate Bill 47 allows for distant relatives and individuals with family ties to receive additional subsidization for taking on the role of guardianship for children. The Missouri legislature seems to be aware of the important and vital role that foster parents can play. Providing a stable and often permanent home for children is an invaluable benefit for everyone. Too often
Suspicious reasons for marriage can lead to complicated divorce
On behalf of Stange Law Firm, PC posted in Family Law on Monday, May 13, 2013. Marriage as an institution has become quite tricky. While the idea is that two people who love each other very much take vows to honor and respect each other, and spend the rest of their lives together, going by the high divorce rate one has to be realistic when speaking of marriage. In addition, outside of the fact that many marriages just do not work out as intended for any number of reasons, there are also those marriages where one has to question the

Great-grandparents push for expanded rights to honor deceased boy
On behalf of Stange Law Firm, PC posted in Family Law on Thursday, April 25, 2013. For people in Missouri who have grandchildren for whom they might want to have custody, court battles can end in heartbreak. While some judges do have concern for grandparents’ rights in child custody cases, oftentimes the presumption is that a child’s biological parents, if they are around, are the best choice to raise their children. However, many grandparents and even great-grandparents have tried to step in when they felt that the parents were not capable of handling the task. Unfortunately for them, their pleas
Fleetwood Mac drummer files for legal separation
On behalf of Stange Law Firm, PC posted in Legal Separation on Monday, April 15, 2013. Separation laws vary from state to state. Some require a couple to be separated for a certain amount of time before filing for divorce, while others — like Missouri — do not require separation at all. In some cases though, even when not required, couples still chose the route of legal separation. Recently the topic of legal separation was brought up when it was announced that Grammy award winning drummer, Mick Fleetwood, filed for legal separation from his wife of close to 18 years.
